My favorite classic Italian dish Spaghetti Bolognese, served with garlic flat bread, finished off with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
Speed up the prep time using Gia Garlic, Chilli and Sundried Tomato Purees available from Asda Morrisons & Sainsbury's
No more peeling, chopping, crushing, stinky fingers and a much quicker, easier preparation with the same authentic Italian taste
We made this meal for a midweek dinner for us and the kids , this quick and easy dish was made with three Gia purees and it gave a authentic Italian taste
Ingredients
2 tsp olive oil
400g Lean mince
150g Bacon lardons
1 onion ,diced
2 tsp Gia Garlic puree
1 tsp Gia chilli puree
3 tsp Gia sundried tomato puree
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
400ml beef stock
splash of macetilla sherry vinegar
1/2 tsp oregano or mixed herbs
Salt and Pepper
Spaghetti of your choice
Method
1:Put the onion and oil in a large pan and fry over a fairly high heat for 3-4 mins. Add the Gia garlic puree and mince and fry until they both brown. Add the bacon lardons ,mixed herbs, and cook for another couple of mins.
2:Stir in the tomatoes, beef stock, Gia sundried tomato puree, Gia chilli puree and Macetilla sherry vinegar and seasoning. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30 mins.
3: Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in a large pan of boiling, salted water, according to packet instructions. Drain well, run hot water through it, put it back in the pan and add a dash of olive oil, if you like, then place the bolognese on top. Serve in hot bowls and hand round Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling on top
